As a special initiative of the Global Compact on Refugees, the Asylum Capacity Support Group created the dialogue platform to help address the challenges facing national asylum systems, in the spirit of burden- and responsibility-sharing and the “whole-of-society” approach, as reflected in the Global Compact on Refugees. Background information on the dialogue platform and its four workstreams is available in English, French / Français and Spanish / Español.
The meeting brought together participants representing States, inter-governmental, regional organizations, civil-society organizations and UNHCR to discuss the dialogue platform and its four workstreams, allowing participants to gain a better understanding of its objectives. Additionally, the meeting enabled sharing of experiences related to the workstreams and enabled States and various stakeholders the opportunity to express their interest in participating in the workstreams.
